General purpose, particularly recommended for GRP laminates and Plaster. Also in Natural without pigment.Blue is the middle hardness Vinamold. Suitable for GRP laminates and plaster.Yellow is the next hardest material, for use with large moulds and thin sections. For use with all the recommended casting materials.White is the toughest compound, best used when casting Concrete or chemically aggressive casting media.

The new 900 series, giving maximum mould life and ease of use. A Condensation cure silicone with 2 stock catalysts, fast and slow, allowing for varied demould times. Compatible with Polyester, Epoxy and Polyurethane Resin as well as all British Gypsum Plasters and Jesmonite. Shelf life of the base silicone is at least 6 months from purchase and up to one year. This quality silicone has a variation of tensile strengths of and excellent elongation at break . There are a large variety of Shore A Hardnesses availble from 16° to 27°, all with excellent tear strengths. This is an excellent all round moulding rubber for many difficult jobs. Select the soft grade if you require better viscosity and are dealing with deep undercuts or difficult pultrusions. Soft also makes a good skin mould supported via a jacket.Medium is a good all rounder and if unsure of hardness to take, is the best first choice. It is marginally harder than soft but resists mould slump more. This is our biggest selling rubber! Think about going for the hard compound if you have very deep undercuts or large pultrusions and are making a sectional mould, this will help eliminate slump. The Hard grade also makes a good non slumping skin mould.Kit contains 1904g of Silicone Base and 96g of Catalyst forming a complete 5kg kit.
Natural Liquid Latex Rubber is a low cost way to make moulds at home for casting with plasters and cementious mixes. Tough and easy to use, a mould is built using a layer process. This means however that mould manufacture is fairly lengthy process which is the biggest drawback of using latex for this purpose. However its amazing elongation to break and general toughness outweigh this disadvantage in many cases. Our latex is one of the highest grades available, with anything up to 60.5% rubber solids content. Yes cheaper latex exists but this is a route to anguish, since less solids = more layers = more time to make your mould. Such high solids also means that this can be used to slush cast masks in plaster moulds.
Unsaturated Unpigmented Polyester Resin 0.5kg Kit with FREE Catalyst. We offer two types, general purpose and casting resin.General Purpose - An ideal resin for both hand lay-up and spray lay-up applications and may be used in contact with potable water. this product is also Lloyds approved. It has a fast cure rate and excellent glass fibre wet out with minimal drainage on vertical surfaces. It has reduced styrene emission during lamination, cure and the period before gelation thanks to a non wax additive making this a low odour resin. This resin is a medium reactivity, resilient, pre-accelerated fast curing thixotropic orthophthalic resin incorporating a colour change mechanism on initiation.Casting Resin - We supply this primarily as an unfilled casting resin with fantastic low exotherm. Add a choice of fillers to help with impact resistance, shrinkage, colour or effect such as cold casting. By using this resin instead of a pre-filled figurine resin you can craft just the resin you need! This resin is low viscosity (thats runny for the non techy people!) at 23 celsius giving fantastic air release. The data sheet does not show this use for this resin but we have some 300 customers who say this is their polyester casting resin of choice! This resin is a medium reactivity, low exotherm, low viscosity , pre-accelerated orthophthalic resin incorporating a colour change mechanism on initiation. It can be used for lamination too.As a quick guide for coverage you will need 1000g per square metre of application area using 450gsm mat. For catalysation MEKP Catalyst is supplied with the kit for an addition ratio of 3%. This product needs only MEKP catalyst to cure this product. MEKP should be added at 1-3% by volume according to the MEKP Catalyst Addition Chart. Adding more than 4% catalyst is a waste, there will be spare chemicals left over which WILL soften your laminate! The Gel Time at 1% MEKP and 25° Celsius is 20-25 minutes. Colder temperatures will extend this time, additional catalyst will reduce it thereby giving flexibility in working time and temperature. For casting Resin this extends by around 5 minutes. These products are Water Bylaws Scheme & Lloyds Register of Shipping Approved products.
Unsaturated Unpigmented Polyester Resin 1kg Kit with FREE Catalyst.
Glass Tape, also known as Woven Tape or Glass Scrim is a very useful product and very easy to use. In particular its selvedged edges prevent fraying during use. Ideally suited to laminating pultrusions and tight radii, this tape will lay flat where chopped strand mats refuse to! Due to the woven pattern this product will provide high strength in localised areas. Its uses also include sheathing of wooden canoes, seam sealing on dinghys and small surfboard repairs. You can use a couple of layers of tape to make a basic support case for a RTV Silicone or Latex mould.175 gsm weight you will need two layers to make up the same glass weight as 300gsm mat, however the rapid wet out and ease of use mean you can go for two layers in one go. One layer should be wetted first before starting the second!Available in several widths, 25mm (1inch), 50mm (2 inches), 75mm (3 inches), 100mm (4 inches) & 150mm (6 inches). The price above represents the cost of a 25mm x 50 metre roll. If you require another size, please select that size from the drop down box below. You will be automatically charged for the size you require by the addition of a small surcharge.

Usually painted on top of buffed solid wax this can fish eye on application so care should be taken. Simply paint on and allow to dry for a micro fine coating of Poly Vinyl Acetate which will not bond with GRP under any circumstance. When using on top of buffed wax, if the product fish-eyes then use a little just off the boil water in the pva to help it dry off that bit faster. Its also helpful to continually drag the product over the mould surface until almost dry. On the application of the third coat, the suface should be uniform, glossy and flat.Price here is for 1 kilo lot. By adding more to your cart you can access better pricing.

For those that wish to measure catalyst for GRP Fibre Glass by volume when mixing multiple kilo lots, this little pot is worth its weight in gold. Able to accurately mesure up to 140ml (cc) with graduation steps at every 5ml, reasonably accurate dosing is available. We do have catalyst dispensers and syringes for that job, however this can measure more than any of them.Bein accurate means it can also be used for ANY volumetrically added product. Generally speaking thats our new Viscolo RTV or indeed our 1:1 Rigid Expanding Foam. Products designed for measuring by weight should never be measured volumetrically for two reasons. First its hard to get it accurate, second is their SG, if its less or more than 1 then 1g does not equal 1 cc. This leads to over or under catalysation of the product!

Our largest disposbale mixing vessel, however this cup has quite a bit of flexibility and can crack out a few hardened mixes should you want it too! Accurately graduated for the automotive paint mixing markets, it even has volumetric ratios on the side. That said its unlikely you will be using those measurements! It is however graduated in cc's up the side and being transparent is a bit easier to use than a paper cup.Owing to their increased accuracy and capacity, these pots are quite expensive, however we classify them as semi-disposable meaning you should get a number of uses from them before sending them to the trash can.Being a flexible plastic you can squeeze the top of the cup together to make a pouring spout. Superb for accurate pouring and in the case of silicone, will assist you in making a finer stream to remove air bubbles from the mix.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A DISCONTINUED PRODUCT BY OMYA.BLR3 is now available but not recommended. We suggest trials of Omyacarb 5, ATH or Fillite. Price is per 1kg bag, this is the only stocks we have left.Specially coated for both easy dispersion and viscosity maintenance. Adding up to 100% of this powder by weight will barely affect your resin viscosity, making it a very popular choice for resin casters that wish to improve their brittleness and impact resistance without making a paste-like unpourable mixture. The special coating, which is white in colour, will also colour the resin partially. For example when used in our polyester, the honey brown unfilled resin colour on cure lightens to a buff colour. Equally with our fast cast, that becomes whiter. The effect of this can be overcome by addition of pigments. This powder may be added up to 140% by weight, but most of our customers use it at around 50% by weight. As with all our products, the more you add to your cart the cheaper the price becomes. Excessive useage will result in a weaker laminate and possibly that the fibre glass matting may not wet completely.Due to the cube of this product most people require small amounts.
French Chalk is a very versatile filler, used in casting and composites and with many other uses in other fields, including the ornate fibrous plasterware industry. It may be added to resin to rapidly thicken it, even at small percentages by weight there is significant increase in viscosity. This means with a very small addition you can thicken a resin and prevent drainage from verticals and overhangs in laminates. At higher addition ratios, talc (french chalk) can create an effective easy sand filler for use on laminates. Just add talc until no more can be wetted out, catalyse at 3% and apply. You can add additional catalyst to 4% to speed up the reaction and get it to set faster.French Chalk - Unscented Talcum Powder Safety Data Sheet

Designed to be used with Polyester resins and gelcoats to harden the product. As a medium activity hardener this is our most popular catalyst for GRP and can be added at 1-4% by weight (10-40g per kilo) or 8-36 ml per kilo. Do not attempt to weigh out your resin volumetrically as this will reduce your overall catalyst addition ratio since the Specific Gravity of polyesters is less than one, a litre will weigh over a kilo.If you really need to use volumetric measuring, you should opt for somewhere between 2 and 3 percent, that way you should never over catalyse your resin causing laminate softening or excess exotherm leading to thermal shear and cracking.NOTE: We will NEVER supply only MEKP to any individual unless you have purchased products previously that require MEKP to cure or are purchasing additional MEKP for your kit. However if you order less than a pack there is no quantity price break offered.Select your grit from the drop down box. Please note certain grits are slightly more expensive than others. The default grit is the harshest paper, 100 grit.

Pergadry Wax Additive in Paraffin Solution for use in our standard gelcoats to make top coats or flowcoats. This is an essential part of a Flowcoat and without it the material will cure with a tacky finish. This tacky finish is caused by moisture and gases in the air partially inhibiting the cure of the material, an undesirable effect.Simply add Wax Solution to standard Gelcoat at a ratio of 2% by weight, so thats 20g per kilo. Do not attempt to add by volume as invariably it will be either too much or too little. Ensure the wax is well mixed prior to catalysation and should the material be left alone for more than a few hours, it should be re-stirred as the solution will separate over time.Never ad more than 2% wax solution to gelcoats, if you do the cure may be inhibited or the topcoats strength reduced. There is NO benefit of adding "a bit extra" to be sure. Packaged by Pergan in 4kg lots, we break bulk into 1kg kits. The price will drop if you order more than 1kg. Please note that if you only require a small amount to convert 5kg of Gelcoat (only 100g) that option is available on the Gelcoat product page.Store out of cold conditions, otherwise the wax will solidify in the paraffin. This can be reversed by placing the wax solution in very hot water for an hour, regularly agitating. Be careful as pressure can develop in the can when heated!Pergan Pergadry 10 Wax Solution Material Safety Data Sheet

Flag Antifouling Original. The antifouling category page tells you all you need to know about this product! Its rated among its loyal followers and will give you a clean hull year after year (with annual application) often keeping the hull cleaner than its more expensive competitors in some of the hashest waters!ANTIFOULING TIPSIf no antifouling has been applied to the hull before, it will need to be ‘keyed'. Sand it with wet & dry paper and coat it with a primer. (It may also need to be thoroughly cleaned with a solvent to remove any mould release agent)On a hull which has been antifouled previously, ensure the new paint is compatible with the old one, or apply a barrier coat (ie. Primer). Ensure the substrate is not flaking; do not dry sand it. If changing to FLAG CopperQuick it is recommended to remove any other non-PTFE based paint first.Check the minimum period you need to leave between coats and minimum or maximum time the boat should be left out of the water between painting and relaunching. Keep cans of paint indoors until you need them. The paint will be easier to apply if it is not too cold.Use good quality masking tape to mask off the waterline. A cheaper one could allow paint to creep underneath for a messy finish and might not peel off cleanly. Choose a dry day for painting. A damp atmosphere can adversely effect adhesion.Always stir the paint well. And then stir it again before tipping into the paint tray. Use either a brush or a roller to apply it, but not too large a roller. A short mohair one is ideal (or sponge roller in the case of FLAG CopperQuick which can also be sprayed).Work the brush or roller in a criss-cross pattern, and don't spread the paint too thinly. Apply an extra coat to all leading and trailing edges, such as the waterline, bow, keels and rudders where applicable. Do not paint over anodes or transducers. HOW MUCH PAINT?The most likely reason an antifouling system might under-perform, is that the boat-owner applies it too thinly or skips a coat so that the active ingredient is exhausted early. Clearly to make sure you have the right amount of paint, it is important to be able to assess the underwater area of a hull. Preferably you want to do so in square metres as that's how most paints are quoted these days. The formula for doing so is waterline length x (beam + draught) x 0.85 for motor boats, x 0.80 for long keeled yachts and 0.75 for fin keeled yachts. Measurements in metres to give approximate litres required. Our FLAG Antifoulings have a coverage of around 10sqm per litre.Flag Flagship Antifouling Technical SheetFlag Flagship Antifouling Safety Data Sheet
