Vinamold ( or Vinamould ) mould making compound can be used in the creation of a range of moulds from the simple to complex: available in four colors - representing 4 different levels of hardness and or durability, each of which is ideal for a variety of casting materials. Red and white share the same hardness, however white is best suited for Cementious mixes and Resins due to better chemical resistance and slightly higher melt point.

• -- Red
  is the most flexible. General purpose, particularly recommended for GRP laminates and Plaster. Also in Natural without pigment
• -- Blue
  is the middle hardness Vinamold. Suitable for GRP laminates and plaster
• -- Yellow
  is the next hardest material, for use with large moulds and thin sections. For use with all the recommended casting materials
• -- White
  is the toughest compound, as hard as red, best for cement, concrete and resins!

Vinamold should be melted in a temperature controlled method. It is not recommended to microwave this product as hot spots can occur and give rise to noxious fumes! It is easy to burn this product on a hot plate also, and if using gas, the moten pvc is flammable at that temperature, electric hotplate recommended.

You will require a thermometer, a sugar thermometer often has enough range, at least 200 degrees celsius.

If not using a recommended method (ie temperature controlled pot) go slowly and stir constantly to prevent hot spots developing. Search our knowledgebase via the advice tab to read more about using this product including making two part moulds!
